Anyone have an opinion about the new spark plugs from Bosch? Or has anyone used them for that matter? I am referring to their new platinum version of a Split Fire. If you haven't seen on\Ÿå ave 4 electrodes instead of 1. They are of course are supposed to improve mileage, horse power, etc. I was interested when I saw the ad at the local NAPA until I read that the gap is factory set. Apparently the plugs never need, and are not supposed to adjusted. So you suppose the factory gap setting is really what our cars need? Will the plugs that they say to use be acceptable? I have to say the gap between the 4 outside electrodes and the center post was considerable, maybe as much as an 1/8". Wouldn't a gap like that produce a spark that is really hot? Maybe too hot for some of the older stock setups? I would certainly be interested in a plug that improves efficiency and mileage but not at the risk of damaging the engine. One other note, the guy at the NAPA said they were something like $5 - $6 bucks a piece. Some may consider this outrageous for a spark plug.
