The Brazilian T1 pump works and is often found in T3s, though they do 
not produce the T3-spec pressure of 5lbs. The best replacement is the 
German T3 pump, which can be a bit difficult to find. I'd rebuild a 
stock junkyard pump before I'd buy a new Brazil pump.

Stock tubes are cheap, easily available and work best. I dunno where 
your guy got his price, but it's clearly for the wrong part. He was 
right about the spring-loaded tubes, but I'd suggest you find a better 
source of parts. The mail-order houses are very good for this sort of 
thing.
