This is a totally different thing you are talking about... My 72 westfalia has an
Eberspacher gas heater.....    The timer you are talking about controls shutting off
the heater...... it does work, just like you say .. like an egg timer......

the one for the type 3 that I have seen pictures of operates like an alarm clock in
that you set the time that you want it to start at, and it runs for a maximum amount
of time to preheat the car in the morning, after work or whatever.........
