Too big valve clearance is not good either. When the clearance is too big, the valve is not "cushioned" off by the valve train, and the result is that the valve's head can snap off. It happened to my brothers Type1, and it was not a pretty sight, and quite expensive too (yes, it was #3 exhaust). The 0,15 mm clearance is to be adjusted at cold engine, when the engine heats up, it will be 0,0 mm, effectively.
