On a slightly different note: After using Muir's guidelines I determined that I have "long studs" on my heads and should, according to him, use .008 when I adjust my valves. Is this still a generally accepted practice or should I be setting them at .006? I don't think I have excessive valve clatter but if setting them a little tighter would make it even smoother than I'm all for that. Also, he mentioned that you experience a slight horse power lose by setting them at .006 instead of .004 and that made me wonder if I'm losing even more by setting at .008.
