Have fun grinding that bellhousing, Ned. I just got through doing the same thing for my friend Wilson on his '66 squareback. We didn't do it very scientifically, just "grind, try it, grind some more". It seemed like it took forever, but we finally got it in there. We used the 6V to 12V starter adapter bushing. Don't currently have a good 12V starter, but I'll let you know how it works out.
