The first two carbs I rebuilt worked like a charm. Another one acted like yours, so I cleaned it again, then it worked like it was supposed to. I gave up on two more when they worked worse, after two cleanings, than they did before I worked on them. One guy I know swears by soaking them for 3 days first. Another guy says there is a big difference in the quality of different carburetor cleaners. You should make sure that the valves are adjusted properly first and there are no manifold leaks, since the idle and progressive circuits operate from manifold vacuum. Check the throttle bushings for wear. If all that is correct, I'd guess trash in the idle circuit. You can check by swappi£¯ð wn good carb.
