He didn't want them vertical at park, so he wanted help. Early cars parked on one side, later ones on the other. You can tell at a glance which way a particular car is supposed to be by just looking at where the pivots are. They are completely different for the two way of doing things. Find the midpoint between the 2 pivots. If it is left of center then the blades must park on the right; if is is to the right of center then the blades must park on the left. > It's a Type 34 Ghia. Likewise CW/CCW; it's just irrelevant once you realize that the motor does not reverse direction. > The only question left AFAI can see is "Do LHD Type 34 Ghia wipers park on > the left or right?" But at that time RHD Type 34 Ghia > wipers park opposite to RHD (and LHD) other Type 3s. If you can fit the arms to the wiper shafts in such a way that they sweep the right pattern and can be stopped in the right place (with the ignition switch) so that they look right, then they are at least close to the right arms and are at least arms meant for parking on that side. I think that if you mixed up leftpark/rightpark arms they would look really wierd and be clearly wrong. So if it goes through all the right paces, then it is only a parking problem and just needs to have the actuating arm on the gearbox rotated to the right position. > It may be I've got completely the wrong end of the stick here, but that's > how I remember the question being put. Also, if Troy or whoever can tell us which side > the wipers on a '6? LHD? Type 34 Ghia park, that would narrow it down. It is certainly possible that either one of us has the wrong idea of what the problem is. If I don't understand the problem correctly then I have very little chance of recommending the right solution. - ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ------------------------------------------------------------------- Unsubscribe? mailto:type3-request@vwtype3.org, Subject: unsubscribe
