[T3] How to fit type 2 cv's on type 3 axles

Well I now have the bus tranny and thing stub axles installed in my car and
found the next stumbling block.  Bus halfshafts are too long so I planned
on putting the bus cvs onto the type 3 axles but since they are thicker
they don't go on far enough to install the circlip.  Are thing axles my
answer or do I need to get the type 3 axles turned to make the bus cvs fit?
