Good tip.  The old one in my case (black) was hard as a rock and had a few
small cracks.  Don't know how long it was in there, though.  And of course
the clutch was oil-soaked.  I'm also replacing the seal inside the
transmission in front of the release bearing.  Now, when I put the new seals
in, can I use motor oil around them in place of an adhesive sealant?
