-----Original Message----- From: Jim Adney [SMTP:jadney@vwtype3.org] If you can see the little (~3mm) threaded shaft disappearing up into <<<Nope. Bubkas. All that's there is shrouding (tin) and cylinders (and a place where the rod should apparently come down from). part for a few years, another month won't matter. <<<Steve A said that as I live in the desert, the flapper isn't going to matter much (or at least that's how I <mis> interpreted his words); that it's only for getting the engine to warm up quicker in colder climes. The bottom line is; I *have got* to get this car to run cooler. This morning's drive in was at a heady 70¼F, and pinging at 70mph. This is with the car at TDC. This is annoying, because at 5¼BTDC, it's got *so* much more oomph! But at that advance it pings at 45mph. My bellows is installed and intact (new). ------------------------------------------------------------------- Unsubscribe? mailto:type3-request@vwtype3.org, Subject: unsubscribe
