No, can't be right, surely.....   Well, I'll be blowed, it IS right.
Unless you have a 4-pot caliper like the Swedish 72-on Squareback.
Congratulations on spotting that, Adriaan.  From now on, I shall change my
practice (it's worked right for me all these years, though).

Just my two cents worth:

The VW manual states that if the vehicle is equipped with a tandem
master cylinder, the front brakes must be bled first.

This works for me.
