Re: [T3] electronic ignition


This is basically what I've got.  I bought a little kit for about $15,
built it up, put it in a zinc box and have it strapped to the coil.
Noticeably faster starting.  Like someone else said, though, you do
have to clean the points from time to time, apparently some oil floats
in from somewhere.   Some clean brown paper takes care of that.  So I
do that while changing oil and doing the valve settings, have to have
the lid off anyway.   It's about a 30 second job to switch back to
standard points with the quick-connects.  I think I've changed points
once in about 30k miles, the rubbing block broke off.  There's a much
fatter spark with it in place than with the standard setup.
