I have a new version pertronics in my car right now.... it is a 1600 cc, dual solex, with an 009 ..... and the new version is a lot smaller than the old pertronics version they used to have, the old one used to need some modifications to be made to work with most VW distributors....... examples include..... modifications to the rotor, to keep it from grinding away at the pickup module, and modifications to the metal module base, to ensure that the distributor was able to achieve full advance..xÐd"the base was interfering with full movement......) The new version seems like it would work as is with most VW dizzys....... I carry a spare dizzy with points and condenser, installed, for less hassle in case of failure...... I will be however doing some experimenting with a STOCK electronic ignition distributor from an air cooled vanagon......
