Dana - Hey - another Minnesotan on the list! I think that makes 5. Anyway, I am sure there are drain holes in the bottom of your doors, or at least there are supposed to be. If there were none, your doors would very quickly rust out, especially in MN with our road salt use and all. The hole are very small. I have not looked at my 71's yet, but the drain holes are usually just a small crimp in the inner steel door skin so that when the outer door skin is mated to it a small gap is left. There are typically more than one, one near the front of the door and one near the back. Your doors may have been repaired and the hole filled in. You definitely want to open them back up again, since you are right that the window scrapers do not keep all of the water out and you will never keep all the water out.
