The FI really is irrelevant, except for the fact that in the type 3 there was so little headroom for the dist that when they put the FI points underneath they had to "crowd" things in the upper half of the dist. So there really is a special version of the Pertronics that uses a specially modified rotor that carries the timing magnets. This is unfortunate. Someone here mentioned that Pertronics was redesigning their module so it would fit in a more normal way.
