Always remember that you are throwing a lot of heat at anything on the far side of the bolt, too. A propane torch will do for the cooling tin bolts. If you have a fire extinguisher around it can bring a bit of peace of mind. Don't make it necessary to use it. A water soakedv¬€¿ also useful for cooling off things that get hot in spite of your best efforts. You don't need to heat the part red hot. Try to put your heat on the nut part to make it expand. Then let it cool a bit and drip some oil on it as it cools. When the part is hot, the oil will just turn to smoke, but as it gets down to just very warm the oil will thin out and soak in where you want it.
