They often stick solid, and need careful but hard hammering from behind (protect the seat base from damage! If it's sliding, you just need to find those spring clips on the front of the runners by the tunnel. Then stop the rail cutting into the carpet. Dave. I hear that some have simply left it, but the fusible link might fail prematurely on 12V. I would insert a low resistance, say 4.7 ohms (just guessing; it's not that precise, just a standard value!), and see that the clock still winds (clunk about every minute or so). If it doesn't, try say 10 ohms (any wattage is OK). Dave.
