[T3] front seats - HELP!

Ok, i know nothing about cars or fixing them but i recently aquired a '72 squareback. the exterior is in real good condition but the interior has been overtaken by a rodents nest. the little bugger has brought in quite alot of cacti and twigs through a broken window and i'm in the process of cleaning it out. i ran into a problem though...

[please don't laugh too hard]

i can't figure out how to get the front seats off. i looked around for about an hour today trying to find bolts but i couldn't find any. i didn't inspect too deeply for fear of cacti though. any tips would help a ton.
