However, when the MBC was pulled out, the drip stopped. When it was put back in it started again. Hoses have been checked and replaced where necessary. Only thing that occurs to me is that one of the metal lines has a hole in it. If it goes down but the pedal is firm | (doesn't go down | as you push on it), there's a leak in the hoses to the | master | cylinder. MBC is reconditioned. No leak from any of the hoses. Maybe the fluid isn't brake fluid. Does it mix | with | water? Grease from the front axle does produce some thin | oily fluid | which wouldn't mix with water. But it feels, smells and looks like brake fluid. And it appears also at the little screws/bolts that hold the MBC guard on. And at the seal where the rear metal line goes into the body is a little moist. Other than that everything else is dry. | Steering damper OK? It wouldn't leak from the front axle | tube | though. Seems fine and no "wet spots" on or around it. Has me baffled. | | Towing hitch wiring: Thanks for the advice on the Towing Hitch. Will look at that. The wiring is Ok but how to mount it so that it doesn't look messy.
