I too am preparing for the much-needed paint job. But before I do this, I'm going to have replacement seals for most of the windows and body ready to put in after the paint job. (I'm currently in the midst of a search for some new seals). I figure the paint job will be more complete with the windows and body seals off the car, particularly if these need to be replaced anyway. I'm going for a complete repaint and rust treatment inside & out, so in addition to things like headlamps, trim, door handles, etc, I'll also have the door panels, all glass, seats, and carpet out -- I know I'll find some rust under the carpets. I have already found (and treated with Corroless) a surprising amount of rust inside the doors, behind the interior panel and plastic sheet, despite the exterior looking just fine. These cars really do rust from the inside out! My windshield is leaking so much that I am sure to find some of the flange material in the window frames rusted away (fortunately my neighbor is handy with sheet metal and a MIG welder). I think it's a good idea to look for and treat as much rust as you can before investing in a paint job. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Too much?
