My hitch is mounted to the bumper mounts AND has a big bars that bolt to the engine carrier, but this is not of much help to those with swings in the rear. I was told it was custom made but I have since seen 1 other identical so Im not sure but I dont thinkits VW. There is a hitch that mounts to the bumper mounts and uses reinforcements on the mounts (Greg has one) and goes under the engine. if you find one that goes under the engine and bolts to the engine mounts there that would be good.
