Whether you use rubber washers or a piece of hose, the end result will be that there is really NO vibration isolation at all. I know that this may be less than intuitive, but it is true and is simply the result of the fact that the solid bolt now controls the spacing between parts, and it has no give to it (in this context.) I think the problem that someone mentioned about being hard to remove when the OE isolators bust is absolutely true. I just try not to ever have to remove them.
