JimA=> There is no seal here on a type 3. Any idea why the body lip above the front tin is so compex in form, then? It has a shelf, a lip, little dimples, etc. that sure seem to point to holding rubber. I'm tempted to try say a chunk of Type 4 engine seal on it.
