Hoy. Okay. Where do you live that your insurance agents are such *ss-holes? Sheesh. Some of the things I've cobbled together and driven here in AZ amaze even me that they ran, and the agents never even glanced at the car. I just had my speedo-odo rebuilt (it was dead). It cost me $87 (well, actually about $101 or so, because I replaced the cable too); I just took it to a speedo shop and said 'fix.' The gearing of your transmission won't have any effect on the reading of the speedo, as the speedo takes its' reading off the LS front wheel; only the size of the front wheel will do that. The guy at the speedo shop said that the bearings in the speedos overheat and sieze all the time. As cheap as the cable was though, I just replaced it, too (it's kind of a trick to snake it blind through the fender well, but be persistant). If you're in need, I have a spare speedo; but it needs to be re-built as well. You could get a speedo from that van meet, get it rebuilt, and then swap it out, whatever. > -----Original Message----- > From: TOASTEDT3@aol.com [SMTP:TOASTEDT3@aol.com] > Sent: Thursday, October 22, 1998 9:08 AM > ------------------------------------------------------------------- Unsubscribe? mailto:type3-request@vwtype3.org, Subject: unsubscribe
