My dad has a buddy with a body shop that restores old cars. His recommendation to me was to wait 3-6 months before waxing; and polish no more than once a month with a *very* mild polish. Even that only to reduce any inadvertant orange-peel. His recommendation on a polish was DuPont No. 7; which I haven't seen since moving to AZ. I even checked 'vocational supplires.'
