RE: [T3] Volkswagen Metallurgy 101

I JB Welded (steel impregnated epoxy) the case. 7/8 of the crack stayed
sealed but a little oil is seeping out of the end. Turns out I have another
crack closer to the fan housing, under (?) the oil passage.

I am tired of fighting this engine with such a limited budget.

I'm going to look into buying a new VW water-pumper and garaging my baby
(age/rank/'too much $#@!ing money spent' has it's privileges) until I can
afford to start driving her again. This way I can drop the engine and have
the crack welded or I'll have to contact my builder and have a new one
machined. At least with the engine out it'll make installing the oil
pre-cooler easier.

She's still drivable until the <groan> day I can get a new vehicle. Man,
all the air has left my sails and I can't spy any enthusiasm on the horizon.
