What year Squareback is it ??? if it is a swing axle tranny there shouldn't be that much trouble...... but if it is an IRS transmission your engine will be draggin since there is no provision on the type 1 case for the rear cross bar which is neccessary...... unless the case is a universal case ( which would be VERY simple to comvert to type 3 configuration ), or if the case is from a 68-71 Bus these case have the needed holes located at the back of the engine for mounting of the rear cross bar...... erich hildebrandt wrote: > Alright, I need to settle this once & for all, as I've heard all sorts > of contradictory stories from self-styled experts.
