Hi.....a question from the land of Aloha.....I was outside running the notch, and was watching the enging run:). I just happened to look to the right rear of the engine bay and noticed something I hadn't before. Now...this is the same exact engine the car left germany with in May of '65,(birth cert. proof),1500cc dual carb, and just had $500 worth of clutch, and major leak repair done. I noticed that the oil bath aircleaner, on its way back towards the right rear of the bay, and where the rubber boot attaches to this little gizmo....part # 341 129 609, above that it says "MANN" and the little VW symbol below that. When I tweak the throttle, a little lever pops up, and when I let off, the round weight makes it fall back down. Thats on the far right side, on the exact opposite side theres a little lever held in place by a little notch, and when I popped it out, a little door on top of the intake opens inward. Just curious, as to why this is..... Sorry for the silly question, and being sooo long winded.... Chad PS- the car was delivered to Paris 2 days after being built, have the french dealer tag that I found in the glove. ------------------------------------------------------------------- List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list or mailto:help@vwtype3.org
