Thanks for the input on the engine numbers.

I now see the difference on the mounting surfaces you were talking about.

One other, trivial, question...

has anyone noticed that the wiper blades on the t-3s extend beyond the
curvature of the windshield when in "park" (especially passenger side)?

I have two '72 Fastys and they are both this way.

I'm sure it's design, but I think it's a little weird looking.

The engine number doesn't answer the MT vs AT question.  For that you
just have to look at the front of the case where it mates to the
tranny.  The AT case has a cutout there at the bottom that is not
there on an MT case.  I't sure there is a casting number difference,
too.  But that is the hard way to go.

If you will study the engine removal proceedure in the Bentley
manual, I think the difference will become clear to you.
