The only difference I can think of between a carb case and a FI case is the studs where the fuel carb fuel pump normally mounts. When I converted to carbs I had to get longer studs in order to put the fuel pump on. But from carb to FI you would just have to deal with slightly longer studs sticking up, which shouldn't be a problem. As far as I know the FI system should be able to compensate for the minor increase in displacement. At most it would need a minor adjustment to richen the fuel mixture.
