This is actually a response to Dave Burden. My apologies to the list for sending it to everyone, but perhaps there is some general interest content here. Please update your address book to include THIS address and delete that old one, I never use it, and seldom check it. I believe you were asking if you should support the rear of your tranny if you remove the engine. On 69- type 3s, it is necessary to support the rear of the tranny whenever the engine is removed. This is done to avoid stress on the tranny nose cone which might otherwise break it. I do this by wrapping a rope around the rear of the tranny and over a 30" 2 x 4 which I place fore and aft across the engine opening.
