CharlieM=> the screw in studs I was told by the guy who mounted my tire => weren't safe. Is that true? What other options do I have? In theory, if you have two ends to get loose you have twice the chance of losing a wheel, but that chance is pretty remote anyway. You'll want to be sure to carefully clean the stud holes of the normal anti-sieze compound and instead apply Loctite, and you'll probably be OK. As an alternative you can also get Empi chromedome bolts for about ten bucks a set. => I have no brake lights and no rear left parking light. First I'd open up the left taillight assembly and look for a chunk of bare wire that shorts to ground, maybe some of the insulation has rubbed off due to vibration, or a connector got loose, whatever. If it's not there I'd look around the fuse box for a crossed wire. I think you probably have a single short, this sounds like the solution will be pretty simple. Then again, electrical problems can be a nightmare. Just try be patient and thorough (yeah, right, upside down with your head in the pedals. Ack). => the fuse blows when I press on the brakes, so I am guessing the => switches work enough to send current to the short. Am I correct? Yup. => If I ever meet you two in person, I'd be honored to buy you a beer. You're on! Root beer for me .... => My 71 squareback backfires ONLY when I decelerate in gear..... it is => getting worse too. What causes this? An exhaust leak, probably. This is postignition, not backfire.
