I had a cheap RAC gauge on my 63 bug.....that fateful dark night in '75....no lighting in the gauge..Somehow the cheesy nylon tubing supplied with the gauge cracked and enough engine blood sprayed the underside of my car to keep it rust free for a while...also welded the bearings to the crank.....not fun.
