Hello all...BTW, Jarhead mentioned that my messages always had a PCX (or other image file) attached...I think I took care of that (is there one attached to this message?)... So the past few days we've had a lot of rain here in the east (VA)...and as usual the square was leaking water inside the car. I read the water leakage FAQ in the type III site, but I think my problem is unique. It was initially happening on both sides of the car until I cleaned some dirt/leaves/general compost out of the left side drainage tube. Now the left side is dry even after the biggest deluge. The passenger side, however, is a different story. The tube doesn't seem to be blocked...you know where the tube goes into the front "firewall" area? Well the water expelled by the tube seems to be leaking back into the car because the seam just below the tube outlet is rusted a bit...the water just weeps in...My last resort solution for this will be to feed both tubes into the outlet for the left side tube using a T fitting. Any other ideas? But thats not all...water is also dripping from above the glove box...maybe its trapped in the fresh air hoses, in which case I'll try to track that down tonight. Anyone have a similar problem? Another interesting note: Yesterday the SO and I were taking our dog to a lake to swim...we stopped at a local deli for sandwiches and when I came out there was a yellow late-model square parked next to mine, and some guy was examining my car. I walked over and we started chatting. His is a 73 and is all original...he's the original owner and has kept it garaged ever since it started leaking water into the inside of the car during rain storms (notice the connection?)...this car would be such an easy resto...fix one or two rust spots, buff out the paint, take care of the water problem...thats about it. If I didn't just buy one I would've made him an offer right there. And an annoying note: Saturday night the SO and I were driving through DC and decided to head through her old neighborhood (Dupont Circle)...as we're pulling through an intersection at Q and Connecticut Ave. this jaywalker kicks my square as I drive by...I instantly slam on the brakes and the guy approaches and asks me if I'm a taxi...I say "no" and "you best watch your step, punk a$$"...I start to drive up to the next red light...he approaches again (obviously totally loaded) and asks me is I want to start something to which I reply "fu&% off" and drive away when he kicks the car again...but that time a DC cop saw the whole thing and pulled over to offer some "assistance" to this nice drunken gentleman, heh heh heh. Hope he landed in the drunk tank for the night with a distibbing the peace citation 'cuz the new paint job on the square now has two scratches (not a big deal, though, because it looks like the PO prepped the body for this new backyard paint job with 20 grit, ack!)... fun fun fun... -Doug 74 super 69 auto FI square douglas_brashear@mail.amsinc.com
