When i bought my car it came w/ recpts from the last two POs,   And the
same thing happened to one of them and they paided not knowing any better.
the transmistion is one thing but check this estamite out (from a vw
aircooler shop, not some mechanic unfamillair w/ vw):

speedometer cable replacment:  parts: cable $45 , labor $60
 or shifter coupler repacement: $150 parts and labor

OYE!!! bewqare the evil mechanics

[i replaced both in a saturday morning and spent ~$12 in parts]

if anybody out there in T3 land does'nt own a Bently T3 VW manual, use the
example of my car's PO as a warning and go out and spend the $35, it'll be
worth it so you can tell when a mechanic is full of it
