Re: I found a type III

Some (not-so-silly) questions from Z:

> Q#1 I could not get the hood open .... I pulled the handle in the glove box
> but nothing happened... anysuggestions as to how to get it open?!!?

You gotta remove a circular disk that lives under the front trunk rearward of the
front bumper, then reach thru the hole up into the trunk area, grab the
cable, and pull. Once the trunk is open, you will need to adjust or replace
the cable.

> Q#2 I could not get the back trunk open .. how do you open that.

Open the driver's door, look on the rear... what's the word?...upright member of
the bodyframe...there is (or should be) a release lever there. Hope it works!

> Q#6 She wants $400.00 ..Do you think it is worth it..

My top offer is $200 for a non-running, restorable T3. I have bought two (a
Fastbk and a Squarebk) each for this price. But, of course, a car is "worth"
whatever the seller and buyer agree to. My procedure has been to buy a car for
$200 and then spend about $2000+ to restore. I get both a hobby and a "new"
car for a very low price.

>#7 it needs a few items like tail lights and turn lights... are these easy
>to get..

Not easy, but available...and expensive! Look around for good used...and never throw
away any usable lenses.

Others will be better qualified to answer the questions which I omitted.

I would offer $200, take the Fastback home, and have a great time restoring it.
If you do this, you will have a vehicle of which you are proud, about which you know
more than most owners know about their cars, and a car which is a bargain as far
as $$$$ go.

Good luck...and let us know what happens.
