Okay, I went to the basement and grabbed one of mine to test.  It is 
the same as yours.  Either Muir is wrong (quite possible) or you are 
misinterpreting what he says.  Here's what you should have:

0 Ohms=no suction=full throttle

infinite Ohms=suction=normal throttle or idle

Your switch is fine.
