T3: more turn signal q's

Ok, I put my other flasher unit on today (on the '57 oval) and the turn
signal's worked about 10 seconds before it stopped. My question is, I measured
the voltage at the terminal (flasher unit to the turn signal switch) and it
comes up at a good 6V's until I use the turn signal switch. It then goes
between 3.5-6V's slowly down to just half a volt. What gives ? Is the voltage
dropping at the switch ? That seems the only likely place. I know the flasher
unit is good, and it bulbs and battery are on par, the only thing left is the
switch itself. Any help is much appreciated, as always.
