At least they were willing to talk a bit. You might find that they could send your band (or another one) out and get it relined. If oversized linings can be had, and if there is enough beef on the clutch to allow a bit of machining then it should be fine. Your best bet is probably to try to find such a place and see if what they can fix you up with. They will probabaly be cooperative at least as long as you are offering to buy parts through them.
