Any ATM specialists out there? I have an on-going project to restore a 1972 notch. Main mechanical problem is ATM has no reverse gear with all forwards gears being OK. On dissembling the ATM, the 1st gear band has come unstuck due to adjustment lug breaking (still haven't located it) on band because of either overtightening or fatigue. This has caused the support fork to to jamb on the band causing a small amount of scoring on the clutch. Is there anyone that can tell me if there is any "permissible" amount of scoring allowed without affecting the running of the ATM. Or can the clutch be machined or does it need to be replaced regardless of the amount of scoring??? Any constructive help welcome!
