So now you know that your shop doesn't do this kind of work they just exchanged heads with a major rebuilder and passed them on to you. > in Tom Wilson's book, 'how to rebuild your air cooled engine' he says to > pour solvent down the ports and look for leaks out of the valves.. very > small leaks require lapping but a running leaks require regrinding.. ...... > all my valves but one drip...drip...drip and three exhausts are an actuall > trickle You could try lapping them and see if this cures it. If it does, fine; if not, take them back and get it done right. Your real problem is that you are not in direct contact with the people actually doing your work, and I would say that this doesn't sound at all good for GEX. Lapping requires work on your part, and this is not easy. Disassembling the heads to do this work requires special tools. Basically it looks to me like you've been screwed. Unless your retailer is unusually responsive and is willing to go to bat for you with GEX I think you are out of luck and now need to find a way to get these heads done right.
