ok, here's the problem. i took my heads to the shop for a valve job and to be opened up for 90.5 cylinders. now when i took them in they had a little welding in the spark plug region and a large K stampped on the rocker floor. when i got them back they had roughly the same amount of welding but GEX stamped in the rocker floor.. now GEX being a name i have at least heard of( as opposed to a big K) im not that upset but then here's problem number2.. in Tom Wilson's book, 'how to rebuild your air cooled engine' he says to pour solvent down the ports and look for leaks out of the valves.. very small leaks require lapping but a running leaks require regrinding.. ...... all my valves but one drip...drip...drip and three exhausts are an actuall trickle should i take them back?!? or just lap them and go on with things? anybody got any strong feelings about GEX? i'm trying to take my time and do things right, but the anticipation is killing me! brandon 73 square..lost my head ------------------------------------------------------------------- List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list or mailto:help@vwtype3.org
