The steel fan slides on the tail end of the crank and is aligned to the crank with a Woodruff (half moon) key set in a keyway cut into the crank. The Alum fan/pulley mounts against the rear face of the steel fan and has a steel pin pressed into its front face which mates with a hole in the rear face of the steel fan. The large fixing bolt passes through the pulley and fan and tightens into female threads cut into the end of the crank. I'm sure there's a good picture in the Bentley manual.
