[T3] What color fir my Notch?

Hello everyone in T-3 land, I have a question for you all. Just got what
I believe to be the "final" word on the original colors for my
Notchback, the birth certificate had said "72 72 15". Subsequent probing
into the cyberworld (much thanks to Dave Hall for this) has uncovered
that the "72 72" in '73 meant an Agate Brown mtetallic body and roof,
which is what the Notch had (has) under the Alpine White it is (now).
The dash and fender wells are already this shade of brown, which I kinda
like. However, the "15" as I am to understand, indicates a blue interior
(hey, I don't understand it either) which it is *still* been having.
I always chocked it up to an off-the-shelf, take it or leave it
re-upholstry job, but there may be some basis for it. Now that I'm
finally restoring it, what do you all think I should do? I mean, I can
A- go for the strictly by the #'s resto and end up with a metallic brown
over blue, correct car (and suffer the subsequent snickering and finger
pointing as people laugh at my color blind attempt at aesthetica, all
the while as I whine about how it *is* correct, can't you see?), or
B- go for something a little less 1970's, maybe Alpine White over a nice
brown upholstry, with an Agate Brown dash and wheel accents and a salt
and pepper carpet(my personal fav)?
I've got some time to decide about what to do, I've only stripped all
the chrome and dash parts off her and id'ed them and stored them away,
but it's something to think about. Half of me says to go for the
*correct* colors as it will lend itself to the quality of the the car
(you know what they say about first, last, and any oddballs in the
middle), and half of me says to go for the colors that I like (and it's
also the opinion of my "better half", if you catch my drift) as I'm
doubtful that I'll ever sell it, and as it takes two people to make a
classic car and I haven't found that other person yet, I doubt I'll ever
make enough to retire on from it. The crux of the biscuit is, what
would my fellow listee's do? I would appreciate any and all input.
Thanks again,
David Walters
