Hello D & L Walters , I have a similar situation in front of me with the restoration of my 71 Notch. Initially I didn't care much for the color of the car when I got my hands on it. I asked the local VW Club members what my next best to original color should be. The answer that I got from more than one person was to find all the available colors for the exterior and interior for the year of production of the car and chose a stock original combination that best fits your preferences. By going with a paint and interior combo that was representative of the year and type of car, and maybe not what is actually on the birth certificate, is better that just shooting it any color under the sun when trying to be somewhat original. This is just my two cents, but I hope it helps. There is one more thing to remember, and that is that it has been known that VW did make mistakes in documenting the color schemes on some cars so you may have one of those rare ones, which could make your Notch even more rare than it already is. Hope I Helped Some Steve. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Search old messages on the Web! Visit http://www.vwtype3.org/list/
