Having a pair made is probably not a bad idea, but for safety's sake 
they should be made to shape and tempered like the OEs.  I'm pretty 
sure there are glass houses that will do this, they might even 
already have the patterns.  These are just flat glass, so I wouldn't 
expect too many problems.   Check out a copy of Hemmings Motor News 
for glass distributors; one of them might even have a couple in 
stock.  Last time I needed a windshield, I drove over to Iowa Glass 
and picked out one from ther thirty or so that they had there.
