Gee, I was disappointed a few years ago when one of my older
Michelin ZXs failed. The dealer pointed out that the date code
indicated a year ending in 7, but the tread on that tire had been
long discontinued in 87, so it must have been from 77. At least 15
years old at the time.
Personally, I think a good tire should last 10 years and over
100,000mi on our cars. Of course if you are going for high
performance this will no longer apply.
