Yes LSD's were fitted to T3's, they were made by ZF. This sort uses the clutch type LSD that eventually will wear out. The Haynes manual said they were on option, but they may have been more fitted in Scandinavaia, and maybee even nothern Germany. These are no longer off the shelf items but may be made to order by ZF (at a cost), but still maybe available from stock from distributers,(but not in ZF UK, as I have tried). I think Berg used these and may stock them. The Quaife diff is a different type( Automatic Torque biasing diff.), that is done by gears so never wears out. they are advertised as for the Beetle. When I asked they said they were for the IRS beetle so will fit IRS T3. Quaife only make them in batches, and most are made for the German market for there Race cars. When Quaife do have them they sell for about 432 (1995 price list). For interest Quaife also make a 6 speed sequential transaxle that could probably fit in a T3 with a bit of work, but I guess the price tag would be more than several very goo T3's.
