I have rebuilt a few T3 front axles before and this seems to be a universal problem. It is possible to weld the little dimple up and to drill it again but this repair does not seem to last very long. I have located 2 of these anti-roll bars in good condition some time ago and have since put one on my car. I checked it again over the weekend, as a matter of fact, to see if it was OK. > One other hint for you Fast and Notch owners, using a late Square stabilizer, > Noticably bigger, will greatly improve sway in the front end. I'll second that! It seems to me that we Type 3 owners will do our cars (and ourselves) a great favour by annually inspecting the entire front axle and steering for wear. I have taken mine apart for the second time now, this time to trace an intermittent shimmy which was irritating the sh*t out of me. I found the following: LH bottom ball joint slightly worn - replaced with second hand one. Both RH tie-rod ends worn - replaced with new parts. Steering box totally dead, no amount of adjustment could cure the play - replaced with a good second hand unit. Both front shocks worn - replaced with new units. The interesting bit is that none of these parts were so badly worn last year when I took everything apart for inspection. I only had to replace both upper torsion arms, the anti-roll bar and the steering damper then. Anyway the car handles like a new one and I now have a whole trunk full of T3 front suspension parts and I am willing to part with some of it if the price is right!
